Detroit Parks Coalition Awarded $2.6 million from Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation
The Detroit Parks Coalition, a startup nonprofit helping to support healthy, equitable & vibrant parks in Detroit, has been awarded $2.6 million to expand programming, provide matching grants for capital improvements and sustainability to its member organizations, and strengthen its relationship with the City of Detroit Parks & Recreation Division over the next 3 years.

Freedom Arts Festival
A Knight Arts Challenge winner, the Freedom Arts Festival connects—and reconnects!—Detroiters to their neighborhood parks. Featuring music, dance, storytelling, and art reflecting Detroit’s multicultural tapestry, the festival brings together freedom, racial justice, history, and connection to place through arts & culture.
Summer 2022 Community Yoga
Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, DPC is partnering with Yoganic Flow to offer free community yoga in our member parks.
