Southeast Michigan Resilience Fund
Recognizing the need for a coordinated, public-private approach to addressing the stormwater, habitat, and public-use issues in the Southeast Michigan region, seven corporate, foundation and government funders have joined together to create the Southeast Michigan Resilience Fund (Fund). The Fund will award grants to help increase the resilience of communities and natural resources in Southeast Michigan by reducing the impact of stormwater, improving water quality, enhancing habitat, and increasing the accessibility and usability of public green space and natural areas. Grants will be awarded in three categories: 1) expanding green stormwater infrastructure and enhancing public space, 2) improving habitat quality, connectivity and accessibility and 3) activating restored habitats and greenspace.
Approximately $1.8 million is expected to be available for grant awards. Individual grants typically range from $150,000 to $400,000.
Confluence
The goal of the Confluence Program is to intentionally connect to historically marginalized people for the protection of natural places. Each year, The Conservation Alliance awards four grants to groups led by Asian, Black, Brown, Hispanic, Indigenous, Latin American, or additional communities who identify as People of Color working to protect a natural place. Each grantee receives $100,000 over a two-year period ($50,000 per year) for their effort to protect, conserve, or restore land and/or water to foster a planet where natural places, wildlife, and people thrive together.
Game On-Community Places to Play Initiative
Game On-Community Places to Play is an initiative of The DICK’s Sporting Goods Foundation and LISC. The initiative provides funding and technical assistance to community-rooted organizations working to create and renovate multi-use youth sport spaces for youth ages 6-24 years old in under-resourced communities across the country.
Grant awards will range from $50,000-$100,000 and will require 1:1 match funding. Funds will be awarded to outdoor and indoor facilities that enable and demonstrate local community access and usage for all organized youth sports, including but not limited to basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, football, tennis, lacrosse and volleyball.

Pistons Neighbors Program
We’re bringing programming to the parks!
Presented in partnership between the Detroit Parks Coalition, Detroit Pistons Foundation, and City of Detroit Parks & Recreation Division, the Pistons Neighbors Program reflects our commitment to Detroit’s parks and the people who enjoy them. From July – September 2023, parks throughout Detroit will host drop-in activities for all ages, including sports clinics, live music, dance classes, and visual arts.
The Neighbors Program supports community-based organizations in programming in their local parks. Organizations may opt to have DPC and the Detroit Pistons Foundation operate the programming or, for more established organizations, operate the program themselves and receive reimbursement. Organizations may request 1-5 programs, each of which must occur weekly from 4th of July to Labor Day. Selected organizations will be responsible for marketing and evaluating the programs in their park; a stipend will be provided for this work.
Applications for the Pistons Neighbors Program are due on March 1, 2023.
HOW IT WORKS
February 1 – March 1: Community organizations apply to host the Pistons Neighbors Program.
Applicants select the programming they would like to present in their park, as well as whether they prefer to have DPC operate the program or receive a stipend for operating the program.

March: A selection committee reviews all applications and selects programming for implementation.
April 1: All applicants are notified of decisions.
Selected partners will be responsible for promoting the Neighbors Program in their park. A stipend will be provided for these efforts.
